  "The vehicle I drove was the Blue Nissan 370z (#2 of production) for 350-400 miles of the 690+ mile Dallas to Nashville section of the tour.

  I really enjoyed the overall experience of the trip as well as the vehicle.  This Z is a great machine!  It shows exceptional characteristics in nearly every aspect of design including the vehicles' acceleration, handling, braking, suspension, chassis, interior, exterior, traction, driveability... Nissan did an amazing job of creating a vehicle that DEMANDS TO BE DRIVEN!  This is a great Japanese Sports Car (Front-Engine, RWD) and is great for a daily driver, track car, and/or weekend car.

  This Nissan 370Z in a Sport platform (332hp & 270tq w/ 6spd manual w/ opt rev-matching w/ 19" wheels) exceeds my expectations for a vehicle in this price range & design.  With my experience upgrading performance characteristics of all types of vehicles, I can say that this Z is the best vehicle to purchase that requires little to zero modifications to meet the "PERFORMANCE CAR ENTHUSIASTS' EXPECTATIONS".   I'm happy to say that the vehicle has more than adequate horsepower, torque, power-to-weight ratio, traction, acceleration, driveability, shifting, rev-matching, stability, handling, and the driver comfort required in a daily driver/street car.  The ride quality is is also amazingly smooth for such a great handling car.

  After getting into the Nissan 370Z and driving it, you will not want to stop driving!  This car wants you to push it... it is always eager to be Shifted... Driven... Loved...

  For those of us that like to look further into a vehicle's power-to-weight ratio... for fun I made a special side trip to the nearby Weigh Station... the Z weighs 3680lbs with: 150lb driver, 130lb passenger, 100lbs+ cargo, and 3/4 tank of gas... roughly a 3300lb vehicle."

  "The 370z's new technology takes some getting use too. This amazing car makes this process fun.  I go over all the cool technological details in the Nissan video interview.

  Nissan's follow the Z tour is a new way for them to share the 370z experience.  It is a privilege and honor to drive one of the few 370z's in the country before it's on sale.

  We drove about 700 miles from Dallas Texas to Nissan Headquarters USA in Nashville Tennessee, stopping only to switch drivers, or get food, with only one refuel.  It was a adventure that I could write a book about with complex obstacles and challenges.  The Z pulling me threw and with me the whole time.

  I left Dallas from Outperformance Shop, my friend's performance shop in Dallas.  Driving for them, I make so many new friends in the national car culture.  Some I have already met, like the Hot Import Nights Crew, who set up the events when we got there.

  Jumpstart Automotive Media was at Nissan Headquarters to interview us and ask about all the new features.  Only a few performance magazines and TV shows have been able to see the 370z, let alone drive it.  So they wanted to know everything about it.

  "With the release of the next generation Z car ahead, I am proud to say I am one of the lucky few that have been priveleged to drive this amaIng machine. I drove the 370Z from Dallas, Texas to the north American Nissan headquarters. 

  Owning a 2008 350Z I have to say this is is the most powerful Z car ever built. This vehicle has not only great aesthetics, but it has the power to back it up. With the new Z comes new features such as push start and syncrorev. I had nice idea what kind of monster I was getting into when I first entered this vehicle, nor what new features the Z had to offer. 

  Driving to the hotel from the Dallas event I maneuver the down shift and heard  the engine rev up and was wondering what had happened. With just a pishnod the clutch and a flick of the wrist the car matched revolutions with the lower gear. I was pumped to find this new feature.

  With the bigger motor of the 370Z comes bigger wheels, tires and brakes. The sleek exterior comes with an equally equipped interior. This vehicle provides comfort and performance at an affordable price. All in all the Z car has always been the best bang for the buck.

  My experience with the Z car has been an unforgettable one. Driving the Z from home to Tennessee I wasn't able to see the full potential of the vehicle, but from what I have experienced, this Z car is like no other. With the advancements of this new Z car I can't wait to see what Nissan has in store for the future Z."

  The event will be something unusual in RoadRally for the DFW area ... a map rally based on the British fave "Plot and Bash." Entrants will be given a genuine Mapsco map and a set of rules. Using these rules, they will determine the proper route on the map, and then drive that route. They will note certain landmarks along the route to let us know that they went the correct way.

  
  The entrant’s experience determines the class declared (First Timer, Novice, General or Master). Minor children (under 18) must have a signed SCCA release from both parents.

  This is the 4th event in the 2008 Texas Region SCCA RoadRally Series, a projected six event championship of entertaining road rallies.

The first RoadRally in the 2008 SCCA Championship RoadRally Series will be held May 3rd.

The Rally to the Race will begin at Subaru of Plano, and end at Texas Motor Speedway for the SCCA Sunburn Grand Prix roadraces.

This year's course is a little longer and a little faster, with more rural roads that you will enjoy driving.

The Rally to the Race (Saturday Morning)

Come join us for a morning of good-spirited rally driving, ending at Texas Motor Speedway for the Sunburn Grand Prix Road Races.

 

The rally will start at the Subaru of Plano dealership at 4480W Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093.You will need a driver, co-driver, something to write on (clipboard or something similar), and a pencil. No rally experience is required. SCCA members note: this event is part of the Texas Region SCCA 

      Regional Championship RoadRally Series.

The end of the rally course will be in the parking lot of the Texas Motor Speedway Souvenir shop at the track in Fort Worth. Instructions will direct you from there to parking inside the track. Lunch will be from vendors in the south paddock area. Rallyists may attend the worker party at 6pm for a free dinner and fellowship with Texas Region members.

Registration opens at 8:30am; the first car leaves at 9:30am; you will finish just after noon.

Entry fee: $20 per car for SCCA members, and $30 for non-members. This fee includes 2 free tickets to the SCCA road races for Saturday and Sunday at TMS. You may register online at http://www.dlbracing.com/clubs/texasscca/rally.aspx?EventID=3295. Create an account, then follow the instructions to register for the rally on May 3. You will be able to register for future rallies without entering your personal or vehicle information again. Note: there is a $5 late-fee for all those who do not register online or by mail. The 6th event in the SCCA Regional RoadRally Series will be held Saturday, September 29th, with registration beginning at 9am. No prior rally experience is required. The Start will be at the Mapsco Map & Travel Center, 11811 Preston Road (at Forest Lane), in Dallas.

The DFW Map Rally, presented by Mapsco, will be an exercise in map reading, followed by driving the route you determine. Scoring will be based on how closely you follow the predicted route. This will be quite different from the usual ‘gimmick’ rally, but just as much fun. Trophies and door-prizes will be furnished by Mapsco. Dash plaques will be given to the first 45 cars preregistered.

You can create a 3-car team for no extra charge, and compete against the other marques entered. Then you might join Lotus and Subaru as team winners this year.
